2011 U.S. Army Commemorative Coins
The United States Mint issued three commemorative coins to recognize and celebrate the founding and history of the U.S. Army. The uncirculated version of the $5 gold coin is noted for having a lower mintage. The silver dollars featured two soldiers back to back, symbolizing the worldwide deployment of the modern U.S. Army. The uncirculated version of the half dollar began to command a premium immediately after sell out due to the low mintage for the denomination.
